Wind + Storage = Energy Security

A battery-based W2 wind system integrates seamlessly with existing solar allowing on- or off-grid uninterrupted operation.

Where?

Wind turbines aren't just for rural homes.  Any place with a reasonable wind resource and where point-of-use generation is desired is a potential site. 

What?

A standard W2 system consists of: Our 2 kW turbine and controller, 100' tower, wind charge controller, battery bank, and a grid-interactive inverter. Tower-mounted PV panels (4 x 330 W) are optional. (non-breaking space)


Integration with Solar

If you have existing grid-tie solar, skip the tower-mounted PV option yet still create a hybrid system by adding wind. A W2 turbine integrates easily and results in a valuable power system with the benefits of energy storage and duel generating sources.  
Your W2 turbine and existing PV is connected directly to a battery bank sized to your specifications. Through our grid-interactive inverter your system operates independently, selling excess energy back to the grid when available.

Yield

How much energy our W2 can produce in a year depends on your wind resource.  With a modest wind resource on its standard 100' tower, our W2 turbine can generate about 2000 kWh in a year and potentially much more if located in a wind rich area.  Combined with 1 kW of solar in our hybrid system, the typical yield increases to about 3000 kWh annually.

The W5. Birth of a more intelligent wind turbine.


Proving ground for innovation

Production of the W5 was a 5 year process of innovation, design work and testing. Developing the its Active Furling capabilities, sensors, web-based monitoring, and rugged design resulted in outstanding efficiency and reliability in our first wind machine.

Applications

Several of our W5s are deployed in the Upstate, NY area. At private residences for point-of-use power generation and at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY for educational and symbolic purposes.


Although we have shifted our production focus to our W2 turbine,
the W5 is still available to interested customers.  Contact us if interested.
